A Perfect 10 for CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

A Perfect 10 for CSI: Crime Scene Investigation二月 11, 2010

12 February 2009, Singapore – CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), the number one scripted series in the United States, scores its tenth season with old favourite Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) heading back to revisit the team in multiple episodes. This has set the television world abuzz with many questions on the return of Sara – what actually prompted her return to Sin City? How will Sara's reappearance affect the current team dynamics? And last but not least, does this mean Grissom will be next to make an appearance some time soon? Get your answers by tuning in to the first and exclusive premiere on AXN on February 24, 2010!

The understaffed CSI team has more to contend with internally after Riley Adams’ (Lauren Lee Smith) departure, with team leader Catherine Willows (Marg Halgenberger) reeling from Riley’s harsh words in her exit interview. Faced with criticism on her incompetent leadership bringing down the team’s morale, Sara’s timely return to the CSI team helps Catherine get back on her feet again, with the assurance that “the only thing that Grissom had that you (Catherine) don’t is you”. Meanwhile, Dr. Raymond Langston (Laurence Fishburne) and fellow CSI team member Nick Stokes (George Eads) rise in the ranks.

Season 10 opens with an impressive stop-motion sequence where the ransacked CSI crime lab appears to be in a state of pandemonium – corpses half-falling out in the morgue, bullets in mid-air and the CSI team frozen in the midst of the crossfire. A dead body was stolen and found the next morning ground into mince. What might be the motive fueling such a drastic cover-up? The plot also thickens with the appearance of a sinister new serial killer Dr Jekyll when a body turns up with his intestines in a knot, yet with no apparent incision on his body. For Dr Jekyll, the crime scene always lies with the body.

CSI continues to draw old and new fans alike with an increase of 17% in adult viewers aged 18-49 during its US premiere timeslot as compared to last season’s finale. Evidently, fans have taken well to the Grissom-Langston transition, as so succinctly put across by New York Daily News, “Langston is a character who's strong enough to firmly take Grissom's place at the table”. Stay tuned for this season’s storytelling as Sara’s reunion with the CSIs promises more fireworks, for who knows, Grissom might just pop by to say hi.
