AXN Tops Ratings Charts with The Amazing Race Asia Premiere and Celebrates 6th Consecutive Emmy Win for U.S. Version

- For the sixth consecutive time, The Amazing Race has been awarded the "Best Reality Competition Program" at the 60th Emmy Awards. Clearly still the most popular reality series all over the world, its 6th Emmy win reinforces and explains the popularity of the show's Asian version, The Amazing Race Asia, which has been amassing audiences since its first showing on AXN.

Aired on AXN since it flagged off in 2001, the U.S. version has kept millions of viewers entertained season after season. It has also been on the Emmys ever since. The race, now in its 13th season, will premiere on AXN next week.

The biggest original production by an Asian broadcaster, The Amazing Race Asia garnered amazing ratings results from its latest season premiere on AXN. Its debut on 11 September started with a big bang and secured its undisputed #1 reality hit series position. Despite its already enormous viewership base of over 19 million viewers across Asia for season 2, the debut of season 3 saw an awesome 12% growth in viewers from Malaysia and Singapore tuning in. And AXN has been leading the ratings chart with The Amazing Race Asia during its timeslot among international cable channels across key Asia markets for all episodes so far.

Executive Director of AXN, Ms. Yan-Jong Wong, says, "The success of The Amazing Race and our very own Asian version definitely demonstrates AXN's foresight and strength in bringing the very best, high-quality television entertainment to its audience. From next week, viewers can get double dose of round-the-world adventure travel excitement from both versions showing on our channel, but each with its distinctive brand of entertainment."
